Level 2 Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis - 4 hour course
Did you know that in 2014, there were over 4,000 hospital admissions for anaphylaxis in England? Anaphylaxis is a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction, which requires immediate medical attention. With the number of sufferers increasing each year, it is extremely important to know what to do when faced with this acute emergency condition.
The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency. Successful candidates will be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, and will be equipped with the vital skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective treatment.
This course includes: Chain of survival, Incident and casualty assessment, Managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR , Recovery Position, Common anaphylaxis triggers, Signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, Treatment and Medication Adrenaline auto-injectors.
Epilepsy Awareness - 3 hour course
Epilepsy is a medical condition that affects more the 500,000 people in the UK which means that 1 in 100 people will be affected by it. It is a a medical condition that causes the electrical patterns in the brain to misfire. This course is 2.5 hours long and successful delegates will be awarded a certificate on completion of the course.
This course includes: What is Epilepsy, What causes Epilepsy, The different types of seizures, how to treat Epilepsy in first aid, The drugs that treat Epilepsy, Safety issues, Living with someone how has Epilepsy, Recording of Epilepsy and Learning disabilities and Epilepsy.
Diabetes Awareness - 3 hour course
The is two main types of diabetes are type one and type two. Type two is far more common with 90% of adults having it. There is about 3.9 Million people in the UK,that one in sixteen living with diabetes. Diabetes is causes when there is a inbalance of either sugar or insulin within the body which is know as a hypo or hyper.This course is 2.5 hours long and successful delegates will be awarded a certificate on completion of the course.
